After nine years of operation as a farmer run CSA, with the assistance of the newly formed KALE CSA Society (Keep Agriculture Local and Empowered), in 2008 we entered into an agreement with The Land Conservancy of British Columbia to lease an abandoned in ground, organic tree farm in Langley to develop that 40 acre property into a whole farm, member owned CSA. Our shared vision for the future of this project is that the KALE CSA Society, whose officers are the previous members of Nathan Creek’s Core Group Steering Committee, will gradually assume operational and, eventually, financial control of the CSA. All individuals wishing to obtain shares of the farm’s harvest will join the KALE CSA Society, whose annual membership dues will be used to make all of the necessary investments in the development of the infrastructure and productive capacity of our new farming home.
